It’s weird–The last time I checked there wasn’t a rule about which bodies are deserving of pleasure. Yet, here I am, writing an article to remind my readers that fat sex is great sex (don’t worry—an article on differently abled bodies and sexuality is in your future, too). Ah, the things I do to fight body shaming and support sex positivity for EVERY BODY.

Good Sex Is About Confidence

If you’ve ever struggled with body confidence, whether it was about weight or not, you can attest to the fact that it is truly hard to have some bomb sex when you aren’t feeling good about yourself. Naturally, your mind is in a different place: you’re worried about how you’ll look in this position and what your partner(s) think if you try that move. Writing about it makes me feel bad, never mind experiencing it. So do your body a favor and relax. Let go. You deserve for the stars to align, the sea to part and your clitoris to bring forth an orgasm the likes of which the world has never seen.

Shake What Yo’ Mama Gave You, Honey

Listen, you are going to jiggle. Your rolls are going to be out and available for grabbing and rubbing, with your enthusiastic consent, of course. There’s nothing wrong with it. You’re soft and beautiful. Your body’s aesthetic offers a different type of comfort and support to your partner(s), which can only serve to increase attraction and better the sex. Because again, if you’re worried about what your partner thinks, it affects the flow of sexual energy and said energy is necessary to keep the magic going. When you aren’t into it your partner will know. Trust me, I’m a therapist.

Fat Girl Positions

Sex positions aren’t created equal and if you’re concerned that you may try something that doesn’t work, only to allow feelings of embarrassment and shame to creep up, take a look at Elle Chase’s book, Curvy Girl Sex. Not only does it show you some awesome sex positions to try with your partner(s), but she also covers some hot positions for masturbation, as well as suggested sex toys for plus size women. I’ve recommended it to clients and friends alike. It’s definitely worth the read!

The Take Away

Your body is amazing and made for pleasure. Although it is always your choice as to whether or not you WANT said pleasure, I truly hope that the decision isn’t made solely on the fact that you are not thin. You have one body and that body shows up for you every day, whether you show it support and love or not. So take advantage of all it has to offer. You deserve it.
